How to make an image higher resolution

A picture is too small, and when you enlarge it, it goes blocky and pixelated. Here's how to make an image higher resolution in one click, so it stays clear at a bigger size.

Simply stretching an image doesn't add any detail, it just makes each pixel bigger, which is why it looks blocky. AI upscaling reconstructs the missing detail as it enlarges, so the result looks sharp rather than pixelated.

Do it in Chrome, in one click

Image Enhancer is a free extension that enlarges an image up to four times and cleans up the compression damage along the way.

  1. Add the extension to Chrome and open it.
  2. Drop in your small or low-resolution image.
  3. The on-device AI upscales the resolution and sharpens the detail in a click.
  4. Download the larger, cleaner version, no watermark, no size cap.

The image is enhanced on your device, so it's never uploaded anywhere.

What to expect

Small and heavily compressed pictures are the best case here. That damage is digital, the detail was captured and then thrown away on its way through a chat or an upload, and the model puts a good deal of it back.

What it won't fix is a shot that missed focus, or a frame smeared by motion. That detail never reached the sensor, so nothing brings it back. Scanned film is the other miss, the model sands the grain off instead of resolving it.
