The usual pain with Excel to PDF is layout: a wide sheet breaks across pages, half a column lands on page two, and the result looks messy. The fix is setting the page fit before you export, or letting a tool handle it for you.

Or do it inside Excel

If you'd rather use Excel directly, you can, it just takes a couple more steps to avoid the layout breaking:

1. Select your data, then set Page Layout → Print Area.
2. Under Page Layout → Scale to Fit, set Width to 1 page so columns don't wrap.
3. Go to File → Save As (or Export) and choose PDF.

That keeps the formatting intact. The extension just does the page-fit part automatically so you don't have to think about it.

Most "lost formatting" problems come down to one thing: the sheet is wider than the page. Fit the columns to one page wide before exporting and the PDF comes out clean, whichever method you use.
